Summary

After graduating from college in preparation to move away and start physical therapy school at the University of Pittsburgh, I felt that I was entering the physical therapy career for all the wrong reasons. Shortly after, I decided to pull my spot from Pitt and start all over. After much reflection, I found myself wanting to explore the education world. With much hesitation due to the teacher shortage and low pay, I figured it was worth looking into. After my first month of substituting, I knew that teaching was my calling. I became so passionate about teaching that I was determined to get my teaching certification as quickly as possible. After finding a program that allowed me to gain my certification, while subbing to gain valuable experience, I knew that I had to jump on the opportunity and I did just that. My path to a Level 1 Certificate for Prek-4 is now complete. I am now seeking a full time teaching position for the 2024/2025 school year.

  • Assessed student progress regularly, providing individualized feedback and support for continuous improvement.
  • Monitored student performance and provided feedback to inform instruction.
  • Created my own centers and crafts for the students to complete weekly.
  • Developed my own behavior management plans and implemented behavior charts for students who struggled to listen.
