  • Prepare and distribute detailed briefing materials for committee members, including the memorandum of the hearing that is used to brief the Senator.
  • Liaise with witnesses and their staff, coordinating schedules and addressing any logistical needs to ensure their participation and comfort during the hearing process.


On-Site Support During Hearings:

  • Provide real-time support during hearings on the dais with the Senator, assisting with note-taking, and aiding in the reference of any necessary hearing materials that must be reviewed quickly, and helping to address any unforeseen challenges that may arise.
  • Ensure that all committee members have access to necessary materials and information, facilitating an organized and productive discussion.


Ongoing Research and Legislative Tracking:

  • Monitor relevant legislation and policy developments to inform future hearing topics and committee initiatives, ensuring alignment with current legislative priorities.
  • Collaboration and Team Engagement: Work closely with other staff members to foster a collaborative atmosphere, sharing insights and supporting each other in preparing for hearings and committee activities.


Strategic Administrative Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the committee, managing complex calendars and coordinating high-level meetings with stakeholders, experts, and constituents.
  • Prepare comprehensive meeting materials, including detailed agendas and insightful minutes, ensuring all members are well-informed and engaged in the legislative process.
  • Conduct thorough research on current and emerging legislative issues, including work on national issues and entities such as the United States Postal Service and national drug shortages.


Effective Communication and Outreach:

  • Draft high-quality memos, and position papers that articulate the committee’s objectives and positions on key issues.
  • Cultivate relationships with constituents, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders, effectively conveying the committee's priorities and gathering valuable feedback.


Legislative Tracking and Reporting:
