At the end of the day I'm really just a people person, despite occasional swings of anxiousness I've always found myself more than capable of making good conversation with anyone around me. This really helps me with customer service because it allows me to work through a customer's needs while keeping the moral high and most importantly the customer's happiness. I learned this in my time at Sanders Markets and it lead to me having quite a few regulars in my aisle no matter the shift I would be on and it certainly made me happy. Making conversation like I do has also greatly benefited me as an instructor and a zipline guide, being able to talk guests through a new experience and give them advice and encouragement when trying something new has been an amazing opportunity that I plan to continue to do all my life.
At the end of my first winter instructing I was encouraged by many of my coworkers to get certified as a professional instructor through AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors). I registered and after a two day exam I was rewarded with my pin signaling I was now a member and a truly official instructor too. Since then I've been lucky eough to have had the opportunity to continue my education with the people at AASI and I've been out to the east coast for a few events to improve my skills as a rider and a teacher.
