Overall I am a hard worker that is looking for a company that doesn't just care about the numbers but also genuinely cares about the quality and detail on projects we work on. I want to be at a place that cares about what they are doing and wont feel like we did something that wasn't something i would do at my own home. I want to work at a place that cares about employees and is understanding if their is times that there is days that need off requested as long as its scheduled in advance. I also want a place where crews and management all get along as well. I work hard and I do my best to make sure any job i work at i give all my effort to and go home not stressing about work.
Went to different jobs everyday whether I was doing service for windows or doors that were installed by another crew or I was out doing my own installation of jobs that were given to me. I also helped other crews install as well as i was all over the place. Drove to all around PA and even other states everyday. I would sometimes pick up material as well and drop it off to places. I had my own truck that i took home.
Started off as a helper and slowly learning how to do everything that was needed at the company. They installed mostly anything exterior and occasionally would do things that were needed from inside, mostly when doing windows or doors and trim was needed to be put on or messed with. After about two years many guys i had worked with had left so i stepped up and took over driving my own box truck while typically working in crews of 2-4 people. Eventually became a lead installer where i was given jobs to complete as well as direct a crew i was with. We installed Windows, doors, fascia, soffit, awnings, basically anything that had to do with exterior on a residential home we did it. We also used a lot of aluminum coil so I had plenty of experience with a brake/ Towards the end the company started to get into commercial glass and i helped and learned some parts of it for a couple of months.
This was a seasonal job that they had wanted me to come back but I enjoyed the experience but ended up going back to Carpentry. My Job was to take a Van that had a Z-Spray that i would drive around on customers property's taking care of any weeds and applying fertilizer to their lawn. My responsibility was to talk to a customer and make sure they were aware of everything that was happening on their property and answer any questions that they had in regarding to anything happening to their lawn. i had to learn all sorts of weeds and pests that could damage their lawn as well. I was by myself everyday and had a certain amount of customers per day and a quota of an amount to hit per day.
I started off as a laborer and helper with no experience learning how to use power tools and other equipment. We did just about anything that the company could get into. This involved roofing, interior and exterior remodeling, concrete work, additions.
My job was the beginning process of cabintry for the company. Our department was responsible for getting rough lumber and cutting or ripping it to correct lengths and widths and then sending them to the next line to continue the process further in the department. My job would change spots everyday but was always in the same area whether i was using a table saw and ripping lumber down to the correct dimensions according to paperwork or i was using a chop saw to cut lumber to correct lengths. Had to use a electronic pallet jack and grab lumber from different parts of the shelves and learn each types of wood species to ensure the correct one was what i was grabbing.
