• Pre tripping my tractor and trailer, checking fluids, lights, brakes, belts, wires, hoses, and tires. Properly filling out gate pass for pickup of load at Lowes RDC, safely transporting the load to one of 50 Lowes stores in 4 states, drop and hook switching trailers out and doing a post trip inspection on trailer I just dropped and a pretrip inspection on the one I'm picking up.
• Operated with safety and skill to avoid accidents and delays.
• Maintained daily, legible DOT log book and submitted corresponding documents.

Inspect lumber being sawn and coming from the edger while walking on a chain. This included upgrading boards for more value, trimming ends for good appearance.

• Participated in ongoing training programs, staying current with industry trends and developments to maintain expertise within the field.

• Inspect lumber by walking on a chain after it comes from the saw and edger
• I upgrade if possible and trim bad ends
• On average 8 hr day I grade about 1200' an hour
• I also catch off a saw when there is no grading and operate the edger
• I am also learning how to saw on a Wood Mizer 4000!

Inspect lumber according to NHLA and/or company specifications and to upgrade boards for more value and trim ends for a better appearance. I also traveled in PA to sawmills to inspect and buy lumber. This involved standing for long periods of time, walking on uneven surfaces, getting up and down, and making quick accurate decisions. This was an outdoor, all year position.

• Grade lumber according to NHLA rules and/or company specifications
• I also travel in PA to various sawmills to grade lumber and buy that lumber according to NHLA rules and our company specs
• This may involve standing for long periods of time, walking on uneven surfaces, getting up and down often, and making quick, accurate decisions
• I also pull graded lumber off a chain and separate into carts which can be physically demanding at times! This is an outdoor job, all year around, and in all weather conditions
• Species I have graded are Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Soft Maple, Hard Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Birch, and Poplar
• Also responsible for the stacking of lumber, and proper loading of kilns as well as drying lumber and servicing the boiler

• To move lumber into and out of predryers, kilns, main building, storage sheds, grading sheds, and lumber piling sheds in a safe and efficient manner, and to document either by writing or using a computer the location of the lumber
• Also to load trucks and containers on outgoing lumber and to unload and document incoming lumber
