Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex chronic

conditions including sickle cell disease, leukemia, renal failure, and transplant care.

• Prepare children for in/outpatient apheresis treatments and assist nursing staff in

treatment plan.

• Monitor for acute changes in condition, initiate interventions, and escalate care as

needed — frequently managing sepsis, transfusion reactions, and electrolyte

imbalances.

• Manage high-acuity procedures including peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and

blood transfusions.

• Participate in rapid response situations and code blues, ensuring timely intervention

and coordination.

• Educate families on chronic disease management, home medications, and post-

discharge care.

• Collaborate with hematology/oncology, nephrology, infectious disease, and social

work teams for holistic patient care.
