- I collected my own data at several thermal spring locations in the field for my thesis research project.

- I was responsible for leading the hut's environmental education and research efforts, while contributing to the operation of the hut as a full-service, overnight facility for guests.
- Facilitated connections between visitors and the local landscape by leading education programs on local wildlife and ecosystems, specifically on lichen, fungi, and White Mountain geology.
- Developed these programs for visitors through research and the creation of educational materials.
- Twice per week, I collected data on the seasonal development of plants (phenology) to support AMC research investigating the ecological impacts of climate change.
- I lived and worked closely within a small community of 4 to 10 coworkers.
- I also assisted in the duties of the hut crew, including hiking food and supplies to and from the hut twice a week, cooking breakfast and dinner for hut guests, cleaning and maintaining the hut so it remained functional, and interacting with guests in a friendly and professional way.
