Well-rounded employee that is committed to providing guests with genuine hospitality and delivering exceptional services in the workplace, Multitasker comfortable juggling priorities. A great coach and leader!
My first year at the Pier I started off as a barback. Washing glasses, bussing tables, and helping the bartender out the best I could. Towards the end of my first summer I was trained to bartend. The next summer I bartended 4 days a week and barbacked 1. I learned how to make a lot of common or regular drinks and menu drinks. I learned all the liquors and mixers we supplied and managed the liquor inventory for my boss.
When I started working at starbucks it was a much different experience then any other place I have worked at. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, it made the whole training process more comfortable and I learned how to share that warm welcome to our future baristas. I learned how to flow and ‘dance’ around my coworkers, it makes everything more easier when everyone is aware and open to offer a helping hand even when they have a full plate. My experience at starbucks was so great I just had to come back :)
I did not work in this position for long but I learned many things, time management was a big one. It was a very stressful weekend job due to peak times being a longer. I learned how to treat people even when I was in an uncomfortable situation or was put under pressure when my hands were full. I also served many different age groups from older to younger and learned how to make great customer connections with everyone.
