Summary
Hands-on training was received for three years at Windurra USA. This included two years as a Working Student/groom demonstrating adaptability working along side head groom Stephanie Simpson at both Luhmühlen and Pau Five Stars. One more year spent as an assistant rider, gaining an in-depth understanding of Olympic and five star event rider Boyd Martin’s professional program of riding, training, and competing.

As a working student at Windurra USA, my daily responsibilities include tasks such as mucking out stalls, tacking up, riding, untacking, grooming, turnout, and feeding. Over the past year, I have advanced to the position of assistant rider for Boyd, taking the opportunity to ride his horses on the flat when he is unavailable. I have been competing one of his horses, known as Gold Czar or Remi. I receive lessons in flatwork, jumping, and cross country from Boyd, as well as other instructors who teach him. For instance, professionals such as Peter Wylde, Brett Parbery, Betina Hoy, and several others coach at Windurra.
