  • Conducted ecological surveys of proposed timber stands in the Allegheny National Forest using Survey123 and Field Maps applications
  • Responsible for walking miles each day in the forest to search for rare or invasive plants, regionally sensitive salamanders, stick nests, wetlands, unique habitat, and accurately recording all data
  • Learned the botany of native, invasive, and rare plants of the ANF and gained experience in field identification of plants, herps, and birds
  • Attended an invasive buckthorn workshop and received hands-on experience with spraying equipment
