My position as a warehouse operations associate involved the following responsibilities. All work was performed in an indoor/outdoor environment during all year round in a variety of weather conditions I was required to fulfill my daily tasks of pulling orders from the outside yard facility by. operating a heavy-duty forklift to pull parts which are of a large and heavy nature requiring special skills to handle loading and unloading on to trucks and on to skids to ship as outbound freight. All of the freight is heavy duty truck parts large in size requiring special handling. Most situations required rigging skills to perform daily responsibilities in assisting the shop technicians, customers, and freight carriers on a daily basis. My additional duties include pulling orders in the warehouse department to fill orders which required prescribed shipping methods of packaging them for shipping as directed by the warehouse supervisor. All goods required boxing and palletizing, as well as strapping and shrink-wrapping when needed. My position also required me to deal with customers who come to the site to pick up their orders, which included verification of orders, and Ito help with loading their parts onto their trucks/vehicles. Added responsibilities are to maintain the yard cleanliness and inventory as well as housekeeping duties in the indoor warehouse areas. Keeping all inventory in order and tending to the overall conditions of the inventory and facilities. Additional duties include safety inspections of all equipment in the facility. Inspect forklift equipment, safety PPE and maintain required safety reports. My work included hauling general building materials, specialty equipment, construction machinery, over size freight, and general goods.
