
Provides care, custody and control of inmates at a state correctional institution or facility on an assigned shift.
-Directs inmate activities and maintains security in cellblocks, housing units, work areas, dining and recreation areas.
-Observes inmates in corridors or in visiting areas, searches visitors, moves groups of inmates from one area of an institution to another, patrols assigned areas.
-Provides advice and guidance in assisting inmates in their adjustment to and participating in correctional processes and the Department's rules and regulations.
-Work varies from duties where there is direct involvement with inmates to work where there is limited contact with inmates and visitors
Summer of 2018, 2021, 2022: Served as a Counselor for The University of Scranton’s University of Success Program for the two week introductory summer program. Counselors assisted the Director of the Success Program, and the Leahy Community Health and Family Center Director in daily academic and residential activities the students were involved in.
2018-2019 school year: Worked as a work-study student for the University of Success program, where alongside the program director, we handled applications, interviews, and monitored the student's academic progress throughout the school year.
Fall Semester 2021: I worked as a work-study student for the Leahy Community Health and Family Center where I assisted the Director with daily office duties;
Spring Semester 2022: I continued to work with the University of Success Program as a mentor during the academic sessions held at monthly gatherings.
Patrol of Community and two outside POA Properties; Positions requires Officers to patrol zones via vehicle; Position requires Officers to write Incident Reports and utilize portable and mobile (in-car) radios; Officers enforce Pennsylvania Title 75, the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code, and issue traffic citations for violations; Officers enforce PA Title 18, the Pennsylvania Criminal Code, and issue Non-Traffic Citations for violations; Officers enforce The Hideout POA Rules and Regulations and issue (non-traffic) citations for violations; Position recommends Officers to be Pennsylvania ACT 235 certified; Position recommends Officers to obtain or currently hold Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Drives ambulances or assists ambulance drivers in transporting sick, injured, or convalescing persons. Administers first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen.
Student Officers patrol the campus and check for problems in academic and administration buildings, residence halls and common areas. Student Officers secure open doors, report maintenance issues such as broken lights, vandalism and safety hazards; Medical calls: Student Officers assist full-time officers with medical calls, assist ambulance crews and assist with paperwork. Student Officers are trained in Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid by a Red Cross-Certified instructor at the beginning of every academic year.
Safely moved customer vehicles from the service bay to the service department, or other departments on MotorWorld property as needed; Lot Attendants also washed and vacuumed customer vehicles before returning them to the designated customer pickup areas; Lot attendants also picked up or dropped off customer vehicles at their residences or places of business as needed; Lot attendants assisted the Loaner Fleet Manager with washing and vacuuming of MotorWorld loaner vehicles as needed.
Public Safety Aides are utilized as civilian support staff within the Patrol and Support Services Divisions; Assisted Police Officers in the transportation and searching of arrestees as well as handcuffing on occasions; Provided police support to Officers on calls; The position required an individual to patrol their sector via a vehicle, bike, or on foot; Issued municipal ordinance citations for violations of Town of Ocean City, Maryland ordinance, as well as parking citations; Respond to active calls, such as motor vehicle accidents, medicals, individuals in distress, etc.; Position required individual to attend a two-week long Academy which covers defensive tactics, searching and handcuffing, municipal ordinance enforcement, parking enforcement, LEEMCC (Maryland Law Enforcement Emergency Medical Care Course), EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course), Drill and discipline, Radio and Communication, Patrol Tactics, and being exposed to OC Spray (Oleoresin Capsicum, or ‘pepper spray’).
