Assists the School Principal by performing clerical functions in the day-to-day operation of the education department.
Initiate and prepare all purchasing documents following all purchasing procedures prior to submission for supervisor's signature and submission to Central Office.
Inventories all supplies, equipment, books, etc. from receiving reports and tagged prior to distribution.
Projects expenses for fiscal year. Prepares and submits budget revisions to supervisor as required. Maintains an accurate accounting of all expenditures for programs.
Performs timekeeping functions as required in compliance with guidelines.
Monitors the training hours for each full-time and part-time personnel.
Assists with the annual preparation of the Planned Education Program. Gather statistical and curriculum information prior to final submission.
Review incoming mail: routes mail not requiring supervisor's action to proper person or composes replies independently.
Maintains accurate up-to-date inmate, personnel, and correspondence files.
Ensure maintenance of DC-47C Education Records on a current basis.
Assists the Principal in coordination of the Apprenticeship Program and submit necessary reports to the Department of Labor on a timely basis.
Takes notes at Department Head or other meetings in absence of the School Principal as directed.
Assists the Principal in coordination of the annual graduation ceremony.
Schedules and attends required training each fiscal year.
Gathers data to submit monthly Education Reports to DCE.
Assists the Principal with quarterly DOC audits.
Serves as the department travel coordinator and enters travel reimbursment.
Creates and tracks all gate passes for visitors entering the instituiton.
