Kristen McCormick

I am a charge nurse in a skilled nursing facility with 11 years experience in geriatric nursing and long term care. I perform many duties in the nursing field such as medication administration; admissions; discharges and many numerous nursing duties required of the facility. I am in charge of the certified nursing assistants on the floor as well. I enjoy working with the various residents that are there for treatment and I am very compassionate and kind. I take pride in my CNA's and appreciate them and their hard work.

I work as a charge nurse and occasionally as a supervisor. I enjoy the residents and the many duties that are required of me. Medication administration and patient care including wounds treatments are my main duties when I work as charge nurse. As a supervisor, I am responsible for the admissions; discharges; scheduling appointments and being in charge of the CNA's and nursing staff.

I worked at Concordia for approximately 7 1/2 years as a charge nurse on the floor in skilled nursing. I administered medications; completed admissions and discharges and provided care to a long-term skilled unit.

I worked at Saxony Health Center (now currently Embassy of Saxonburg) after my graduation from nursing school. I worked as a charge nurse and as a supervisor. Duties included medication administration; completing admissions and discharges; wound treatment and supervising staff consisting of LPN's and CNA's. I only quit this job because my mother developed end stage lung cancer and I quit to take care of her which I do not regret.
