Responsible for the development and maintaining an expert understanding of the various modules, from a functional perspective, and their integration within the overall financial and human resources administrative systems.

Acts as the lead designer, builder, and implementer of the core general ledger module that will successfully capture and report comprehensive fiscal activity for the institution.

Responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger module and its interfaces with the other modules. Leads the efforts of the Institutional Accounting, Reporting and Analysis staff in the daily and monthly processes, monitors these activities, manages the resolution of errors and other issues on a daily basis, communicated issues to management, and works with Financial Systems and Oracle support to resolve.

Responsible for troubleshooting and issue resolution related to the module.

Maintains ultimate accountability for interaction with Administrative Technology Solutions, auditor and University Department Business Officers for system supporting the general ledger and the accounting.

Structures the system to support the requirements of the state of WV and external agencies, including the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Managed the development and maintenance of accounting and reporting for student tuition and fee revenue and student financial aid.

Managed the development, preparation and analysis of the annual financial statements for West Virginia University and the regional campuses and the coordination of the external financial statement audit.

Insured accuracy and timely feed of automated student information system (Banner) by balancing Banner accounting interface to MAP.

Maintained Banner database by accessing, inputting and retrieving information.

Resolved/reconciled financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing accounting information.
