• Teaching orthopedic patients preparing for surgeries, medication renewals or new medication orders, Referring patients to other physician offices, Scheduling procedures or testing, Speaking with patients about concerns of care pre and post surgery, aftercare from office visit, Speaking with family and patients about any medical concerns they have following surgery, wound care questions, making sure all required preop testing and clearances have been completed prior to surgery
• Working one on one with the surgeon and coordinating patient care
• Appointment making for new and current patients

Teaching new LPN students in the clinical setting in a long term care facility, bed baths, foley care, proper positioning, lifting, teaming up with the staff working in the facility. Medication passes, IV insertion, and phlebotomy skills.

• I work directly under the Director of Nursing supervising the staff and fill in when the DON and Administrator were not in the facility
• Helping with interviewing, hiring, disciplinary action and terminations
• On call when needed and making sure staffing is appropriate when needed
• Speaking with families and patients when needed to resolve any conflicts or problems
• Updating care plans and assessing need for change of care
• Speaking with physicians in regard to care and change of condition

• I am responsible for doing admissions, discharges, IV insertions, Passing and obtaining medications

• Using Picc lines, midline, Ports
• Feeding tubes, nasogastric tubes and insertions if need be

• Notifying the DON and Administrator of any emergency within the facility or any problems with staff
