• Conduct felony-level investigations, including homicide, sexual assault, and other complex criminal matters
• Prepare and execute search warrants in support of criminal investigations
• Conduct advanced witness and suspect interviews utilizing multiple investigative interviewing methodologies
• Analyze digital evidence using forensic tools, including Cellebrite and XRY
• Prepare investigative case files for prosecution and provide courtroom testimony

• Assist federal, state, and local investigators in the examination and interpretation of digital evidence
• Support investigations involving homicide, robbery, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and other major offenses
• Conduct data acquisition, extraction, and preliminary interpretation from digital devices
• Prepare written reports summarizing recovered digital evidence and investigative findings
• Provide courtroom testimony regarding forensic processes and evidentiary findings

• Supervise patrol officers and oversee shift operations
• Provide leadership, training, and performance guidance
• Review, correct, and approve investigative and incident reports for accuracy, completeness, and case readiness

• Train and evaluate newly hired officers in patrol procedures, investigative practices, and departmental standards
• Provide corrective instruction, performance feedback, and reinforcement of lawful and effective policing practices

• Manage departmental property and evidence in accordance with accepted best practices and IAPE standards
• Maintain the integrity of chain of custody in criminal investigations and prosecutions
• Develop and maintain an evidence manual addressing the proper collection, processing, storage, and accountability of evidence
• Supervise evidence intake procedures and assist in oversight of additional evidence custodians
• Coordinate with the District Attorney’s Office regarding the lawful seizure and disposition of funds for official use
