  • Deploys, physically on-site and virtually through a call center, to presidentially declared disasters to help disaster victims receive assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Individual Assistance Program.
  • Identifies national research needs in the fields of fire detection, prevention, and suppression technologies and practices; firefighter health and wellness; and emergent issues related to the fire protection and prevention community. Recommends projects for funding and participation through the development of position papers, preparation of independent estimates, and documentation of relationships to established USFA goals and objectives.
