I earned a Department award for Merit- May 2007 After a child was struck and killed by a Marked Police Unit responding to a call. The Untimely death of the child prompted a large Community outpouring with multiple riots by family and Community members. Officers amongst myself used a clear head and calm emotional state to assist other Officers with keeping the Peace and maintaining crowd control Mutual Aid from various agencies assisted and the entire group are commended for their Professionalism and Dedication to Duty during a very intense and potentially dangerous event.
I also earned another Department award for Merit- 2013 at the 7-11 at 2304 Union Blvd after Units including Myself and others quickly and safely took a Homicide suspect into custody after exiting the store with a small child. All Officers used verbal commands to have the male safely release the small child and safely have the child go back into the store where the suspect was then locked out and taken into custody without any other incident. Officers were recognized for their keen observation skills and outstanding Police work which resulted in the apprehension of the Homicide suspect.
I was awarded a Department award for Achievement- 2008 after Another Officer Observed a suspect in a Homicide riding a bicycle without a headlight in the area of 6th and Chew St. The suspect male fled on his bicycle and two other Officer and myself located the male heading towards the Police Station where the Two Officers and myself stopped the male and removed him from his bicycle and took him to custody after finding the male to be possessing a pistol and a bayonet tucked into his pants. After stopping the male it was confirmed he was a suspect in a Homicide that occurred in the City. All Officers were recognized for their performance and apprehension of a Homicide suspect.
I was awarded a second Department award for Achievement-2014 after responding to a House Fire on the secluded Adams Island along the Lehigh River. Officers found the structure fully engulfed in flames. Without regard to their safety, The Officers Mike Popovich, Mike Beidelman, and Ofc. Patrick Bull ran into the scene and assisted the Firefighters in searching for victims, placing equipment, and at one point assisting a Firefighter himself who was on fire. Even though the fire tragically resulted in a loss of a civilian life, The Officers quick actions helped prevent further loss of life and property. These Officers are recognized for their outstanding actions which uphold the mission, goals and ideals of the Allentown Police Department.
I was Honored in 2012 with receiving the Ben Gress Community Police Officer of the Year Award for my Outstanding work with the Community. This award is given normally to Officers who have went above and beyond for their Community and who have been recognized for their outstanding work over the year for the Community.
I have most recently been awarded by the Lehigh County MISA Team a special award labeled as the " I am The Evidence" award given to me by the Lehigh County Mental Health workers for my continued work with Mental Health Citizens while on Patrol in my Community-March 2nd 2022.
