- Completed one year on the Gathering system and transitioned to training on the Transmission side. Gained experience in pipeline operations and functions of new assets in Transmission Gas Control. For example, the function and operations of Storage Pools, Odorizers, Valve Yards, Line Heaters, Etc. Also, the Transmission system allows controllers to look over trends of all the pressure and flow rates to determine what may become an issue in the near future and then make alterations ahead of time to be proactive instead of reactive to problems thus making system operation more efficient. The Transmission pipelines also directly feed into residential taps making it so there are strict regulations and requiring consistent pipeline pressure systemwide. - Control the entire 4 zones of the Equitrans Gathering system monitoring pressure, gas volumes and flow rates using SCADA software and ensure all nominations are being achieved. Within the first 6 months I took it upon myself to get a strong understanding of the gas processing equipment, pipeline operations, and control systems. Also, I learned the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and troubleshoot operational issues and then effectively communicate those with other operators, gas companies, field personnel, and supervisors.
