Assistant Equipment Manager

As the Assistant Equipment Manager, I assist the Head Equipment Manager in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the home and visiting team locker rooms and storage areas, help maintain inventory, acts a liaison to the visiting teams, and service and repair player protective equipment to ensure the safety and health of all team members.

As General Manager of this facility, my responsibilities include: maintain the safety and cleanliness of the facility, property, and all gymnastic equipment, assist in scheduling of employees, repair any damaged gymnastic equipment, build any needed structures for the facility (walls, platforms, tents), enforce all company policies, order any needed items for the facility, provide friendly and knowledgeable service for all customers, interview and choose new hires, training of new hires, coaching of recreational classes, oversee all facility programs (recreational gymnastics, boys and girls teams, parkour, tumbling), provide new ideas for possible new programs and special events.

As Head Equipment Manager, I was responsible for: maintaining the cleanliness of all team locker room and equipment storage areas, ordering all team equipment needs while staying within the equipment budget, servicing and repairing all players equipment to ensure the safety of all team members, hire and assign volunteer team assistants, train and oversee the performance of all volunteer assistants, schedule all practice ice times, schedule all bus travel for the entire season, coordinate and communicate with front office staff for all team special events, communicate with arena staff to help maintain safety within the arena, act as a back up goaltender whenever called upon.
During my time as the Head Equipment Manager for the Royals, I was awarded the ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year in both 2008 and 2009 (one of only two who have won this award twice). In 2009, I was also selected as the equipment manager for the ECHL All Star Game. The Reading Royals also honored me by inducting me to the Reading Royals Wall of Honor in 2012.

As Head Equipment Manager, I was responsible for: maintaining the cleanliness of all team locker room and equipment storage areas, ordering all team equipment needs while staying within the equipment budget, servicing and repairing all players equipment to ensure the safety of all team members, hire and assign volunteer team assistants, train and oversee the performance of all volunteer assistants, schedule all practice ice times, schedule all bus travel for the entire season, coordinate and communicate with front office staff for all team special events, communicate with arena staff to help maintain safety within the arena, act as a back up goaltender on almost a daily basis.
During the 2004/2005 season, the River Otters had 4 NHL players rostered during the NHL lockout. I gained a great deal of knowledge and experience while working closely with the staff of the St Louis Blues to help meet the needs of their players.
During the 2005/2006 season, I was the equipment manager for the UHL All Star Game which entailed coordinating local travel needs for all attending UHL and celebrity players and ordering and preparing the protective equipment for the attending players.
I left the River Otters soon after the All Star game to return to Reading (mid season) to take over the role of Head Equipment Manager.

Operations Supervisor

As an Operations Supervisor, I was responsible for: maintaining the safety and functionality of all areas of Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center, keeping all areas clean and organized, helping with the construction of suites and bar areas, set up and change over for all events including building of stages and setting up seating areas, take the lead for setting up locker room accomodations for all performers in the arena (working closely with tour managers), working as security staff during concerts and special events, and stepping in to assist the ice crew or filling the role of off ice official during many Royals games.

I was originally hired by the Reading Royals on August 15, 2001 to be the assistant equipment manager. I fulfilled that role for the 2001/2002 season. During the 2002/2003 season, I was promoted to Head Equipment Manager mid season. I remained in that role until the completion of the 2003/2004 season.
