A highly skilled Senior Oracle E‑Business Suite DBA responsible for administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Oracle Databases and Oracle EBS R12 environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, compliance, and reliability across mission-critical production systems, including disaster recovery, security patching, and system integrations such as OAM, OID, and SSO.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve production issues related to Oracle Databases and Oracle EBS R12 instances with minimal downtime.
• Capture traces, review system performance, and identify optimization opportunities across database, application, and custom code layers.
• Work closely with application and functional teams to guide code optimization for performance improvement.
• Provide timely resolution to Remedy tickets, incident alerts, and system‑generated notifications before they impact business users.
• Continuously monitor performance of Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 18c, 19c) and Oracle EBS R12 environments.
• Diagnose SQL and PL/SQL performance issues, tune queries, and apply fixes to improve response times.
• Conduct proactive performance tuning on concurrent programs, workflows, and database components.
• Perform security checks and vulnerability audits using custom shell scripts across all Oracle production databases.
• Filter and review metrics to identify non‑compliant components and report vulnerabilities to relevant authorities.
• Apply security patches, CPU patches, and bug-fix patches to Oracle Database and Oracle EBS.
• Install, upgrade, and clone Oracle Databases (11g, 12.1, 12.2, 18c, 19c) and Oracle EBS R12 environments.
• Execute major upgrade upgrades from 11g → 12c → 18c → 19c (including multitenant architecture)
  EBS upgrades from R12.1.3 → R12.2.8 → R12.2.10
  
• Perform on‑demand cloning, application cloning, and database Snap Clone using storage snapshots.
• Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle Data Guard and failover systems.
• Ensure synchronization between production and DR sites following architectural guidelines.
• Perform yearly DR mock drills to validate disaster preparedness and compliance.
• Develop Unix/Linux shell scripts and PL/SQL scripts to automate repetitive tasks, environment monitoring, and system cleanups.
• Enhance proactive and reactive monitoring to support high availability of critical IT resources.
• Administer and support Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Configure and maintain OAM, OID & EBS integration for secure authentication.
• Perform monthly maintenance tasks during outage windows, including system refreshes, patching, and tuning.
• Execute quarterly patching across all EBS and Database components.
• Support production deployment, UAT migrations, and rollout activities in coordination with development teams.
• Provide prompt solutions to customer issues logged through Remedy.
• Manage system-triggered incidents and alerts promptly.
• Coordinate with Oracle Support (SRs), including bridge calls, to resolve product‑related bugs or critical issues.
• Deliver periodic reports on project activities, SLAs, CSI metrics, and production environment health.
• Maintain detailed documentation of upgrades, configurations, incident handling, and system changes.

• Understanding project requirement both functionally and technically.

• The Initial Learning Programme (ILP) was a training programme conducted by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. at its dedicated training facility in Hyderabad. The intensive training programme imparted knowledge in domains such as Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix and C++.
• Trainee engineers were instructed in key software skills and an optional foreign language. At the end of the training programme, trainee engineers were randomly assigned projects to design and deliver within a fixed time-frame.
• As a trainee engineer, I was assigned a software project wherein I had to develop an inventory management system for a retail store.
