• Established and coordinated the LAC Regional Task Force on Food systems, comprising nine UN organizations.

Working in the Food System unit with focus on the development of corporate policies and strategies to promote local development through improvement of livelihoods, food value chains and enhancement of smallholder farmers’ access to markets. Commodity Specialist in charge of WFP’s global cereals purchases including wheat, maize, rice and sorghum, directly managing contracts worth USD 200M per year. Conduct international procurement processes, revise and approve local and regional purchases. Technical leader of initiatives to increase WFP’s local and inclusive procurement.

• Conducted strategic procurement initiatives that increased cereals purchases in 25%.
• Implemented key innovations that led to an increase in inclusive procurement from USD 12M in 2016 to USD 30M in 2018.
• Developed national procurement plans in African and Asian countries, liaising with government entities, international partners and local stakeholders.

Leading a team of over 90 professionals at technical and managerial level and reporting to the Agricultural Supply Director, I managed all activities of the supply chain for biodiesel production based on smallholder farmers in the semiarid region of Brazil. Design annual and pluri-annual planning and budget, develop and control KPIs, plan and design evaluation reports to the Board. Liaison with ministries, state governments, unions and foreign partners such as GTZ and IDB.

• Co-led key changes in the biodiesel regulation through participation in government-led committees.
• Overall cost reduction of 40% in operations, with adjustments in internal structures and process.
• Increased revenues for the smallholder farmers supplier averaged 25% during the period.

I coordinated the design and implementation of the first years of Petrobras’ operation in the biodiesel sector, namely the planning of dedicated logistic networks for operations with smallholder farmers at national level. Developed full sets of guidelines and standard operation procedures, including legal, finance, budget and SAP models.

• Led the inception of the company’s operations in the biodiesel industry.
• Conducted the negotiation of the first contracts with 20,000 smallholder farmers and their organizations.
• Enhancements to the national biodiesel regulation through continuous engagement with ministries.

Coordination of the development process for new products and services to increase the consumption of natural gas in the vehicle sector. Main activities included technical co-development with academia and industry, fund raising and business negotiation with major industry players.
