Emergency Department Technician

• Provided front-line clinical support in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency department, assisting with the care of critically ill patients during trauma activations, cardiac arrests, strokes, and medical emergencies.
• Performed a wide range of clinical procedures including IV insertions (standard and ultrasound-guided), blood draws, EKGs, and bedside I-Stat testing. Supported emergency airway management, CPR, and resuscitation efforts during codes.
• Oversaw and coordinated patient flow across the emergency department by determining bed assignments for all incoming patients, including those from walk-ins and ambulance arrivals.
  This required real-time assessment of patient acuity (ESI), nurse workload across four ED zones, patient status, lobby and ambulance bay wait times, and efficient communication with charge nurses, triage, and attending physicians.
  This role demonstrated strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and the ability to synthesize multiple data points quickly under pressure to improve patient throughput and care delivery.
