This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, plus every other weekend, with variable on-call and holiday duties.
- Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and help drive the safety culture of the organization.
- Participate in monthly safety committee meetings
- Attend monthly Mushroom Employee Safety & Health (MESH) Committee meetings at the AMI office
- Examine workplace conditions to make sure they conform to applicable OSHA standards
- Help establish and maintain safe operating procedures
- Conduct safety talks with crew leaders and workers on a daily basis
- Observe spawning and casing crews daily to ensure quality of work, and proper maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Communicate with spawning and casing customers to ensure we are maintaining quality work and service. Meet customers in person weekly.
- Review schedule books and assign work, ensuring that customer needs are met and work is distributed fairly among crews.
- Manage Fleet maintenance, coordinate the inspection and maintenance of all trucks, forklifts and motorized equipment.
- Procurement of parts for both Truck and Equipment.
- Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the peat moss production area.
- Oversee the training and certification requirements for all operators.
