Support the US State Department (DOS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security's Mission by implementing and monitoring physical security procedures used safeguard government personnel, facilities and private residences from unauthorized access, misuse vandalism, sabotage or loss and implement appropriate response actions when necessary.
Manage security operations and provide guidance/recommendations to US Government management in accordance with contract guidelines and direction to ensure the delivery of adequate physical security standards by the guard force and provide feedback and oversight to lower-grade employees.
Address payroll and HR related issues through Salesforce portal and perform office automation functions as needed.
Analyze and process incidents, threats, BOLO's and circulars from the Diplomatic Security Service and various government/ law enforcement intelligence sources in order to detect actions that may indicate potential risk indicators to State Department activities and to effectively maintain current security awareness.
Act as the first responder to alarmed events and coordinate with outside emergency medical services and law enforcement agencies regarding civil unrest, medical emergencies, security breaches and all other alarmed events (ie. shelter-in-place/emergency action plan); conduct field interviews and complete a written report on form 3155 for each incident.
Implement various security program components such as(Avigilon) CCTV video management system, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems and coordinate with the DOS Domestic Management and Engineering Branch to repair or replace malfunctioning equipment.
Participate in facility security reviews and assessments to identify security related issues and enforce the Internal Controls program by completing security container checklist (SF701/702), securing sensitive/classified materials and completing form OF-117 upon discovery of improperly secured items.
Issue HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards to DOS employees and contractors.
Arm/disarm PIC alarm panels and manipulate GSA-approved Unican, X09 and combination door locks to gain entry to sensitive areas to complete tasks.
Conduct nightly security surveys during long-term construction projects to safeguard DOS sensitive information and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from unauthorized use or disclosure by unauthorized persons.
Provide access control to visitors by using the Smiths Detection X-Ray machine, Rapiscan upright magnetometer and Garrett handheld magnetometer and routinely give verbal/non-verbal instructions to large groups of people during emergency/non-emergency events.
Use de-escalating tactics to resolve issues with non-compliant and unruly employees and visitors.
Brief US Government Management daily on all security/safety-related activities.
Liaison with Special Agents-Diplomatic Security Service, Federal Protective Service and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to accomplish duties.
Successfully complete 80 hours of annual refresh training encompassing updated DOS contract requirements: confidentiality agreements, espionage/insider threat, sexual harassment training, report writing, access control protocols, use of force, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Rapid Deployment Awareness Intervention Decisiveness (R.A.I.D.E.R.) active shooter training and the use of lethal/non-lethal law enforcement equipment and protective strategies.
