My work confronts and affirms the journey that I have been on as a queer individual. I have had to combat an environment that is often intolerant and implementing societal norms has been, at times, my only option. I have gotten through this trauma by relying on my culture and my family. By showing the places I have learned to embrace and the people within my community, I represent my connection to them and how their influence has sculpted me into the person that I am. I invite the viewer to see my world and to understand how I have been sculpted by culture, family, and identity.
