Summary

I have been working as a sheet metal fabricator for 10 years. I started out as a co-op student at Lehigh Career Technical Institute in 2015 and got a full-time job after graduation. I enjoy fabricating and the challenges it brings, such as being able to work with the engineers, coworkers, or by myself to troubleshoot problems, build my own parts, and run jobs. I got to learn how to run equipment such as finger brakes, hydraulic rollers, and shears. Then, learn how to install or repair jobs as needed. Then, to be able to progress through the shop rates. We start out as a C rate and progress up to an A rate. At each rate, we had to do specific jobs or applications to progress through the shop, to be able to run jobs by myself as a A rate. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and pushing myself to learn new ways of fabricating.
