  • Company Overview: Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention is the country’s public health institute, with the mandate to lead the preparedness, detection and response to infectious disease outbreak and public health emergencies. The mission for the NCDC (2017-2021) is to protect the health of Nigerians through evidence-based prevention, integrated disease surveillance and response activities, using a one health approach, guided by research, and led by a skilled workforce. The core functions of NCDC includes; Prevent, detect, and control diseases of public health importance; coordinate surveillance system to collect, analyze and interpret data on diseases of public health concerns, strengthening States capacity in responding to outbreaks, lead the response to large outbreaks; develop and maintain a network of reference and specialized laboratories, conduct, collate, synthesize and disseminate public health research to inform strategic response and policy; and lead Nigeria’s engagement with the international community on diseases of public health relevance.

  • A Qualitative Study of mpox in 3 States in Nigeria, The goal of this study is to understand the enablers and propagators to the spread of mpox which will inform the development of effective and informative social and behavior change and other related interventions in the country and specifically in the three study states.
  • Using Human Centered Design (HCD) and social behavior change to identify barriers, enablers, and challenges to address Lassa Fever in Nigeria, The overall objective of this activity is to identify enablers and challenges to the spread of Lassa Fever, which will inform the development of effective preventive and informative social, and behavior change interventions in most affected states in Nigeria.
  • Investigation of zoonotic risk factors among suspected and confirmed mpox cases in Nigeria, The goal and purpose of this study is to improve our understanding of mpox epidemiology in Nigeria through identification and description of activities that might pose a risk for primary (zoonotic) transmission of mpox from reservoir hosts to humans.
