Work History

Distribution Design Lead

ExecuPOWER
07.2020 - Current
  • Primary focus on overseeing/ managing several distribution programs and direct reports.
  • Create proposals and change orders based on company established resource rates.
  • Produced designs for 4KV, 13KV and 34KV projects from small aerial and padmount replacements to large Unit-Sub Retirement projects involving 4KV to 13KV circuit conversions. I have also worked on both aerial and Underground mainstem replacements which involved identifying equipment within manholes and proposing the appropriate size manholes for specific situations. Aerial work has consisted of fielding poles and identifying those needing to be replaced along with taking note of equipment attached to existing poles and making sure everything is accounted for in the construction notes with the appropriate standards. All work is through Exelon (PECO).
  • Produce new and/ or modify existing 2D distribution circuit designs for both Aerial and URD circuits using Bentley Microstation Connect Edition.
  • Conduct site surveys for areas that fall within scope of work using a data collection mobile application.
  • Create PA1Calls once Scope of Work has been reviewed.
  • Create NJUNS tickets after investigating and deciding which utility poles should be replaced or when new pole installations should occur.
  • Identify permitting situation for scope of work and create/ submit local, state, GPIS or railroad (with Plan and Profile design) permits as needed.
  • Review client's database and archived records, such as standards and diagrams, to aid in producing accurate quality designs and construction notes
  • Complete a variety of tasks using client's Asset Suite software.
  • Train and mentor less experienced teammates on design and engineering processes specific to job-related tasks.
  • Work and effectively communicate with project management team and client's engineers to review scope of work and identify design/ engineering conflicts.
  • Created a design template for the team that was more user friendly and had common design elements organized strategically to aid in overall efficiency.
  • Host internal kick off meetings to discuss the project's scope of work and go over any potential conflicts we may encounter during the design.
  • Host check-in meetings twice a week to discuss progress of active projects to ensure we are staying on track of deadlines and budgets as well as identify if anyone on the team is struggling with their work.
  • Perform technical reviews of projects before being submitted to client.
  • Submit IFR/IFC packages to client and attend client meetings to address any concerns they may have or to be present for construction support.
  • Communicate throughout the week with team, answering questions and discussing items that may be complex or confusing.
  • Have been the go-to for design/engineering related questions.
  • Previously the POC regarding permitting but have since trained someone to take over that role so that i can focus on managing assigned programs.

CAD Technician

J. F. Kiely Services
02.2018 - 07.2020
  • All work was designed for South Jersey Gas.
  • Produced new as-built mechanical designs involving transmission gas networks, meter stations and gas vaults using AutoCAD 2018.
  • Produced detailed 2D designs and completed necessary documentation for gas distribution networks and managed those projects from concept to delivery.
  • Conducted field surveys of work sites and/ or areas within scope of work.
  • Collaborated with construction management team and client's engineers to identify conflicts with design and installation of pipe networks at work site.
  • Aided in the management of certain projects working directly under the senior project engineer.
  • Conducted pressure tests to ensure that the steel pipe and welds were in prime condition and in the absence of leaks so that pressure could be maintained as needed and installation sites would be safe after filling network to the appropriate pressure value set by client.
