• Monitored all production and development database instances utilizing multiple tool sets; Idera SQL Diagnostic Manager; Solarwinds Database Performance Analyzer, and most recently RedGate SQL Monitor. Configured and maintained alerting using PagerDuty for team member response coverage.
• Conducted regular performance tuning reviews for production systems using SQL Server execution plans, SQL Server Query Store (SQL Server 2022), and MongoDB plan tools. Expert level experience in T-SQL performance tuning and code review, rewrite, and optimization.
• Designed, implemented, and maintained a comprehensive obfuscation process for the restore of databases to non-production environments to protect sensitive data (Client Financial, PHI, PII) and to facilitate development work.
• Designed, implemented and maintained a multi-tier SDLC development environment consisting of primary development and multiple QA and load-testing tiers. Refreshed development environments according to SLA-defined schedules using a combination of native SQL server restore, storage snapshots on both Nimble Storage and most recently Pure Storage arrays, and custom designed PowerShell, T-SQL, and JavaScript automation scripting.
• Provided comprehensive support to a 20+ member development and QA team as the subject matter expert in SQL Server design and performance tuning. Acted as primary reviewer for SQL Server schema and stored code review, as well as the primary responsible party for data governance and security.
